Before

before...

Before you were conceived, I wanted you.
Before you were born, I loved you.
Before you were here an hour, I would die for you.
This is the miracle of love.

I'm curiously following your web log from day to day, it's so exiting, especcially since we're also in the process of adopting, our third child from India. :-)

Also I wanted to say that I loved this poem and will write it down and keep it!

Also it's quite interesting learning how you raise the money for the adoption, by a raffle! I think no one her in Norway ever thought of that, and I'm not sure if others would approve either... Happy for you that it works for your family, though!

Wish you lots of luck in your adoption journey. I know it's hard waiting for your precious child on the other side of the world, and Rani is so beautiful!!!
But finally the day is there, when you have the longed for child in your arms, and everything is what it was meant to be...

Warm regards,
Toril

Women are systematically degraded by receiving the trivial attentions which men think it manly to pay to the sex, when, in fact, men are insultingly supporting their own superiority.

There is no such thing as society....There are individual men and women, and there are families. And no government can do anything except through people, and people must look to themselves first.

A woman does not want the truth; what is truth to women? From the beginning, nothing has been more alien, repugnant, and hostile to woman than the truth - her great art is the lie, her highest concern is mere appearance and beauty.

There is perhaps no phenomenon which contains so much destructive feeling as 'moral indignation,' which permits envy or hate to be acted out under the guise of virtue.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

The freest form of government is only the least objectionable form. The rule of the many by the few we call tyranny: the rule of the few by the many is tyranny also; only of a less intense kind.

During the first assault of passion as under a thunder stroke the sentiments of virtue may yield for a moment.

Society is indeed a contract...it becomes a partnership not only between those who are living, but between those who are living, those who are dead, and those who are to be born.

So far as the mere imparting of information is concerned, no university has had any justification for existence since the popularization of printing in the fifteenth century.
