Going against the tide...

I support the Pledge!

"I pledge alliegance to the flag of the United States of America.
And to the republic for which it stands.
One Nation under God indivisible
with liberty and justice for all."

PLEDGE BATTLE REACHES SUPREME COURT

As you may know, California's Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
has banned the Pledge of Allegiance from our schools because,
they say, the phrase "under God" is unconstitutional.

Now, the Bush administration has asked the Supreme Court to
reverse the earlier California Court's decision. However, before
that happens, the High Court must first decide if it even wants to
hear the case.

If the Supreme Court decides against hearing the case, it will
make it illegal for nearly 10 million school children from nine
Western states to recite our nation's Pledge of Allegiance!

And that's not all! Even if the Supreme Court does agree to
hear the case but fails to overturn the ruling, it would usher
in a frighteningly new era whereby all of our nation's most sacred
documents could, as John Ashcroft says, be put "to the chopping block."

WE MUST TAKE ACTION!

Last summer, just hours after this ruling, Grassfire.net
launched a nationwide petition to rally hundreds of
thousands of Americans as to counteract this attack on our
Pledge of Allegiance.

After weathering an initial frenzy of protest, those hoping to gut the
Pledge have watched as the issue has all but fallen from public view.
Unless we can wake up our slumbering nation to this attack, we run the
very real risk of losing much more than just the Pledge.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Already, Grassfire has rallied and delivered more than 260,000
petitions to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals!

We have urged citizens to send thousands of faxes and phone
calls to the 9th Circuit Court, and even submitted a "Friend Of The
Court" brief -- co-signed by over 50,000 friends like you
-- directly to the Court.

Now we need to stir a nation!

What experience and history teach us is this - that people and governments have never learned anything from history, or acted upon any lessons they might have drawn from it.
